The project challenges the three-bedroom residential layout typically found in most Hong Kong apartment blocks. Three gently curve walls, painted in white but with different surface textural treatment, replaced the original rectilinear layout that defines each rooms. The result is a spatial fluidity which dissolves the original dark corridor space into interconnected rooms. These curve walls, which also bent slightly vertically, activates the otherwise mundane, generic space and give the unit a visual richness. Together with the semi-gloss self leveling floor and the recessed stainless steel baseboard details, the design has achieved a gallery-inspired space for the occupants to enjoy.
